Mintridge Bronze Presentation Programme with Jade Windley - Fit4Life Conference at Thomas Deacon Academy, January 2020

Mintridge Bronze Presentation Programme with Jade Windley - Fit4Life Conference at Thomas Deacon Academy, January 2020

We had an extremely positive start to our week, as Team Mintridge were invited to join Thomas Deacon Academy for their Fit4Life conference with
our Ambassador Jade Windley. It was so great to be able to join the staff and students at Thomas Deacon, alongside the other local students and staff who were joining for the day and the exciting events that had been planned. We are so grateful to our partners Squadkit for working with Oundle School to support this Programme.

As part of the day, the students were learning all about the different elements of their lives that they could change or adapt in order to be ‘Fit4Life’, but also to learn new ways to encourage others to look after their minds and bodies. Jade spent the day talking to the working groups and moving
around the workshops, which involved, creating a healthy lunch, designing and delivering a HIIT session and designing your own sport and physical activity app. It was great to hear the students working collaboratively on their projects and come up with lots of unique ideas to help someone become more active and be healthy.

Towards the end of the Fit4Life conference, the students from each of the schools came together to listen to Jade deliver her inspirational story
and talk about the impact of sport and physical activity on her life. As part of this session, Jade welcomed questions from the students. Some of the best questions were:

What was the hardest part about competing at the top level?

Did you prefer singles or doubles?

Why did you stop playing tennis?

Who was the best opponent you have played against?

If you didn’t play professional tennis, what would you have done?

At the end of Jade’s presentation, the students were awarded their certificate of participation, a signed autograph card and took a group photo
with Jade, before heading back to their schools for the remainder of the afternoon.

Thank you to the staff and students who took part in the day for welcoming Team Mintridge to be a part of the Fit4Life conference. Thank you also to Squadkit and Oundle School for donating this Programme to Thomas Deacon Academy.

If you would like to see the photos form the day, you can contact the staff at Thomas Deacon Academy. You can see the short video from our day at our YouTube channel, via this link: https://youtu.be/A9j_RYbUtM8

We look forward to working with you again in the future.

Thanks

Team Mintridge
