Jemima Crathorne is a British kitefoil racer.

CLASS: IKA - Formula Kite, IKA - Kite Foil, IKA - Formula Kite Team Relay

Jemima learnt to kitesurf at only 8 years old; taught by her older sisters, she fell in love with the sport.

Jemima went onto compete on the British Freestyle Circuit, on the European Tour and in the Junior World Championships.

In 2018, Jemima was scouted onto the British Sailing Team’s Kite4Gold program as Kite Foiling was announced into the Paris 2024 Olympic Games Programme.

From 2019, alongside the full-time kitefoil training in Weymouth, Jemima completed her Bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering.

When she’s not racing, she has commentated for both World and European Championships.

She is an experienced adventure traveller, with almost 60 countries under her belt; including cycling solo the length of Norway and kitesurfing on the world’s highest navigable lake in Tajikistan.

She has a passion for encouraging and empowering women to push limits in all areas of sport and life and her personal goal is to bring home the first ever Olympic Gold Medal in the discipline of Kitefoil Racing.

What is Kite Foiling?

Kite foiling (also known as foilboarding, hydrofoil kiteboarding, foil kitesurfing), is kiteboarding with the addition of a hydrofoil under the board.Harnessed to a large hand-controlled kite and powered by the wind, the kitefoiler will use a board (similar to a snowboard, wakeboard, or skateboard) to ride and glide across the water.
