Nekoda Davis is a Judoka who competes regularly for Great Britain in the -57kg category. Since taking up Judo at age 6, Nekoda has gone on to reach the highest level of the sport, becoming a multiple British Champion and competing at tournaments all over the world.
Her dedication and determination has led her to a series of great results in her career so far, including a Gold medal at the 204 Commonwealth Games in Glasgow. This followed on from her great performances at junior level, which included winning a Bronze at the 2013 European Championships.
Nekoda’s success continued into 2015, winning Gold at the Zagreb Grand Prix, British Open and a Silver at the Baku Grand Slam. In 2016, she also won Bronze medals at the Samsun and Dusseldorf Grands Prix and represented Team GB at the Rio 2016 Olympic Games, narrowly losing out in the last 16 to London 2012 Bronze medallist Automne Pavia.
Following a wrist operation post Rio, Nekoda kicked off her 2017 season at the Tblisi Grand Prix in March. Competing in -63kg – a category above her usual weight of -57kg – Nekoda finished in fifth place, a promising return to competition against tough opponents.
Nekoda performed fantastically in 2017 World Championships, winning and Bronze medal. She then went on to win a silver medal at the 2018 World Championships in Baku.
