Commonwealth gold medallist Eboni Usoro-Brown visits the students at Haberdashers' Girls' School for an extra special Bronze netball programme

Our amazing Ambassador, England player and Commonwealth Gold Medallist Eboni Usoro-Brown, spent the day inspiring students at Haberdashers’ Girls’ School as part of our brilliant Bronze Netball Programme. Throughout the day, the pupils from both the junior and senior school, gained some invaluable insight from Eboni following her presentation and Q&A, as well as during the physical netball coaching sessions she delivered.
As keen netballers, the students at Haberdashers’ Girls School, were excited to be able to meet our England Netball star in person and have the opportunity to spend the day learning from the best!
During their time with Eboni, the students got the opportunity to listen to Eboni talk about her ability to manage her incredibly busy life as an international netball player, a lawyer, and a mother. Eboni discussed the difficulty of balancing so many different demands at once, which many students could relate to, and what her methods are when it comes to time management and, vitally, still enjoying what you do.
Throughout our day at Haberdashers’ Girls’ School, Eboni led dynamic and engaging netball coaching sessions with the different year groups and school teams, providing insightful and fun activities that enabled the girls to further discover their potential. Even during their short time with Eboni, some of the students picked up some top tips for winning the ball and playing their best attacking and defensive game.
When speaking to the sixth form students, Eboni was able to share her experiences with them and encourage them to challenge themselves to be more comfortable being uncomfortable, especially when deciding if they could manage a career, studying and a hobby or sport.
As a very successful woman who juggles lots of things in her daily life, Eboni was the perfect role model for the students she was able to work with during our visit and we look forward to hearing more about how Eboni inspired the young women to be the best they can be in everything they do.

We had a brilliant day with the staff and students at Haberdashers’ Girls’ School for our Bronze netball programme and we look forward to hopefully visiting them again soon for another excellent programme.

The Mintridge Foundation’s successes demonstrate the incredible power of sport; from a mentee’s selection to represent Great Britain in their chosen field to enabling disabled children to find confidence and happiness just through participation. Understanding life after sport, we also support our Ambassadors in their transition from active sport to the next stage of their careers.
