Flipping into Action: Grace Harrison Brings Gymnastic Joy to Rockingham Primary

We had the pleasure of visiting Rockingham Primary School in Corby this week with our fantastic Mintridge Ambassador, Grace Harrison, an accomplished international gymnast. Grace brought energy, encouragement, and inspiration to every corner of the school.

To start the day off strong, Grace led a whole-school assembly where she shared her personal journey in sport. She spoke openly about the challenges she’s overcome, the dedication it takes to compete at a high level, and the importance of resilience, confidence, and believing in yourself.

Throughout the day, Grace delivered engaging gymnastics sessions. Every session was carefully designed to build confidence and spark enthusiasm, giving all pupils the chance to get involved. With a mix of balancing, stretching, and jumping, Grace created a space where children supported their peers, had fun and celebrate their own progress.

During lunchtime, the pupils had the chance to submit their own questions for Grace and what a response we had! From “How did you become a gymnast?” to “What’s your proudest moment?” the questions poured in. Grace later took time to respond to the questions.

She leaves behind a school full of young people ready to keep moving, keep believing, and keep stretching beyond their limits.

Questions throughout the day included:

Did you every want to give up and if so what made you keep going?
What is your favourite gymnastic move?
Why do you love gymnastics?
Can you come back tomorrow?

Thank you Grace for sharing your story and your skills with Rockingham Primary School and thank you to Rockingham Primary School for the very warm welcome that Team Mintridge received.
