Breaking Barriers; Empowering Tormead pupils through female physiology and sport with Cerian Harries.
Breaking Barriers; Empowering Tormead pupils through female physiology and sport with Cerian Harries.
We had such a fantastic day on Friday 10th January at Tormead School with Cerian Harries.♀️💪🩸
Cerian spoke to girls from Years 7-13, as well as over 50 parents, about periods and sport, breaking taboos, and the importance of knowing your body to help you maximise performance.
As female health leaders, the Well HQ share, puberty and menopause, biology and psychology – data and research on how women work and function are largely missing from the health and fitness disciplines. As a result, societal understanding isn’t where it needs to be and it is important role models like Cerian that can change this narrative.
Cerian’s passion lies in raising awareness of RED-S and eating disorders in sport. Through Cerian’s lived experiences, she was able to share her story with Tormead students and staff that took her from Welsh National Swimming Champion to suffering with RED – S and we hope, help so many of the people in the room.
