The Mintridge Foundation Has Signed A Two Year Technology Partnership with Active Digital
The Mintridge Foundation is delighted to announce Active Digital as our technology partner.
Established in 1996, Active Digital is owned by brother and sister, Richard Groves and Jo Wimble-Groves. They specialize in providing Apple mobile devices, cloud voice solutions, mobile forms, and purpose-built apps for businesses throughout the UK and Ireland. Established for over two decades, they have a distinguished reputation for delivering market leading telecoms solutions with a multi award winning customer service.
For us at the charity, it is very important to work with organisations that have shared values, and this is apparent with the fantastic team at Active Digital who have worked hard over the last twenty-five years to fund raise and support many UK charities. Over those years, charities that they have supported include, the British Red Cross, Help for Heroes, Ellenor, Joining Jack and many more. Like many industries, Active Digital have seen how UK charities have suffered during the wrath of Covid-19 which in turn has led to a decline in donations and they wanted to kickstart the year by lending our support to a charity which has caught their attention with the work that Team Mintridge is doing to support the lives of young people.
The Mintridge Foundation is a registered charity which is dedicated to enhancing life skills by harnessing the power of sporting role models. Elite athletes help and influence young people by increasing sports participation, nurturing talent and enhancing life skills (including confidence and resilience). Equally, the work that we do greatly increases awareness of the importance of mental and physical wellbeing. Our team of ambassadors are a mix of Olympians, Paralympians and other professional sports stars from over twenty sports, both team and individual. It is wonderful to receive the feedback that Active Digital recognise how we are making a significant impact and inspiring our next generation!
As our two organisations join forces, it has been more important than ever for technology to continue to deliver our one to one remote mentoring sessions in a safeguarded environment, via programs such as Fitswarm and Playwaze. Not only this, but with Covid – 19 restrictions ever changing, our school visits have turned virtual as well and therefore technology is paramount to the success of our objectives. As our technology partner, Active Digital has provided Mintridge with a range of Apple iPhones and iPad devices for the team.
In this recent article from our media partners at the Times, Men’s England Rugby Player, Maro Itoje shows the platform and voice that a sporting role model has to make positive social change – the exact fundamentals of the Mintridge Foundation. Maro Itoje is tackling the digital divide within the UK and this is something that we are fully behind. This is one of the reasons why we are so pleased to be working alongside a hugely respected organisation in the technology industry. This is not only so that more students can access online support during the Covid – 19 pandemic with an increase in home schooling, but with shifts in how young people access activities, this will allow a greater number of young people receiving on demand content to support their mental and physical wellbeing. This include courses and infographics from Believe Perform and virtual activity finders.
Active Digital Business Director, Jo Wimble-Groves commented, “With our vast connections in the world of sport, we wanted to partner with a charity which is working both in the world of sport and also with young people. Active Digital is delighted to embark on a two-year charity partnership with The Mintridge Foundation, as well as being their dedicated Technology Partner. For every customer who joins Active Digital through a Mintridge Foundation recommendation, the charity will receive a donation. Jo said “Mintridge expressed how they had been impressed by the culture, values and foundations that Active Digital has been built on. Active Digital, a family owned organisation, was created by young entrepreneurs, my brother and I, as we started Active Digital whilst still in our teenage years. In the same way that Mintridge has done for sport, we want to be positive role models for our next generation in technology and show them that anything is possible with a willingness to try. The team and I are really looking forward to working together with Mintridge and their wider community, whilst having a positive impact on their charity.”
The Mintridge Foundation demonstrates the incredible power of sport along with enabling children of all abilities to find confidence and happiness through participation. Announcing the new partnership, Alex Wallace, Managing Director of Mintridge Foundation said “We are delighted to join forces with the fantastic team at Active Digital; not only do they offer an exceptional service and help with the running of our charity behind the scenes, but they share such similar values to our Foundation. This really is a partnership that is looking to help each other grow and support our beneficiaries. Can you tell that we are excited?”
We are looking forward to developing this partnership. Thank you very much to the Active Digital team for all of your support so far.
