Targeting Inspiration: Double Paralympic Archery Gold Medallist, Danielle Brown MBE Hits The Mark at Laxton Junior & Oundle School
Morning 7th October saw the Mintridge Foundation team attend both Laxton Junior School and Oundle School with Double Paralympic gold medallist Danielle Brown MBE.
The first visit was to LJS where the day started with Danielle’s presentation about her career in Archery, and excited children (and staff) when she produced her medals! The presentation was followed by three coaching sessions to Years 1, 4 and 5.
After lunch, the Mintridge team travelled to Oundle School Sports Centre for two archery coaching sessions with some of the sports scholars, where Danielle also taught the students visualisation techniques. Between the sessions, the scholars were able to hear about Danielle’s journey from childhood through to becoming the first disabled person to complete as an able bodied athlete at the Commonwealth Games.
Thank you again to both Laxton Junior School and Oundle School for welcoming us back.
