STRENGTH IN EVERY STRIDE: Emmanuel Oyinbo – Coker Inspires Green Oaks Primary Academy with Resilience and Triumph

“How did you feel when you won your Gold medal?”
How does it feel when you’re in the Stadium?

This week, the Mintridge Team was very warmly welcomed back to Green Oaks Primary Academy (part of the Greenwood Academies Trust) for a day of fun with Emmanuel Oyinbo - Coker, para sprinter & current T47 100m Commonwealth champion.

Before Emmanual started his presentation he told the students that that had been the best and quietest entrance to an Assembly he had seen before and asked the students to give themselves a round of applause!

During the presentation, Emmanuel told the students how amazing it had been to meet the Princess of Wales, alongside Dame Jessica Ennis - Hill during his athletics career!

After a very inspirational presentation where Emmauel spoke about his journey to becoming a Gold medal winner, and also being a big Arsenal supporter, it was outside for some fun!

Year 3 were the first group where the students were shown how to warm up properly with several exercises before the Hoops game – renamed Shark Attack by the students. This session was followed by Year 4 being put through their paces before lunch. After lunch, a similar session took place with Year 5 with Year 6 being the final session of the day. Each session ended with lots of autograph cards being handed out and three lucky winners in each Year group receiving certificates, medal and Commonwealth Games pin badges!

WHAT. A. DAY!

Thank you again Green Oaks for another wonderful day, and we look forward to seeing you all again soon.
