Deaflympian, Fil Kamps Ignites Football Fever at Woodston Primary School

The Mintridge Foundation were warmly welcomed back to Woodston Primary School yesterday with Deaflympian, Fil Kamps.

After an inspirational presentation to Key Stage 2 students (and determining if it is indeed coming home on Sunday) Fil carried out two football sessions with Year 6 students. Playing with ear defenders, the students very quickly realised that they had to concentrate on Fil’s sign language to understand the instructions.

After a short lunch, Fil then played football with several students during their break.

The afternoon session was for 8 hearing impaired students which Fil particularly enjoyed, despite the rain. A most enjoyable and rewarding day for the Mintridge Team and our thanks once again to Woodston.
