Furbank Fires Up The Future Generation: Northampton Saints and England Rugby Men's Star, George Furbank Empowers The Students At Woodston Primary School

Step out of your comfort zone – being a captain has opened my eyes to leadership.
— George Furbank

On Wednesday 26th February, Team Mintridge were welcomed back again to Woodston Primary School.  This time it was with George Furbank – Men’s Northampton Saints Captain and England Rugby Union player.

People will try and bring you down but they are not part of your goals.
— George Furbank in reference to hitting the national press after his first England appearance and not being ready for the impact of social media.

Leading three sessions throughout the day with Year 6 students, George started the first session with a presentation before moving outside for some rugby coaching.  As the rain fell, the session moved into the hall with more drills carried out.  Session 2 followed shortly afterwards – again with a presentation before another coaching session in the gym with George showing the students some handling skills.  After lunch, the final session of the day began with a coaching session in the gym, before finishing up in the classroom with the presentation.  All sessions ended with photos, questions and handing out of autograph cards – to joke telling! There were some good questions throughout the day!

Messi or Ronaldo?
What football team do you support?
What do you want to do after rugby?
How much do you earn?

Thank you for having us again Woodston Primary and we look forward to seeing you all again very soon.
